I was chatting to one of the CrowdComms’ team members about what the next 50 years has in store for the events industry. The consensus was that the event industry won’t change that much. If we are completely honest, the conference hasn’t changed too much for 2000 years! A meeting of minds, where thought leaders and speakers take it turns to speak to an audience, has been in existence since the days of sitting around the camp-fire or temple.
The Roman senate is pretty easy to compare to a typical conference. The subject matter of a Roman debate and our modern conversations may differ, but a group meeting is a group meeting (although for us, minus the being thrown to the lions conundrum). This is never going to change.
What will change, however, is the technology.
The role of technology is to make better events. Whether it’s a microphone that makes sure everyone can hear. Or a conference app that removes the hassle of printing program, event tech’s sole purpose is simple: to support group meetings.
It’s very easy for event app companies to get carried away with boundary breaking ideas. But I recommend people to take a step back sometimes and not deploy technology for the sake of it. The products we deliver must support the event and make it better for the organiser and the attendees…and that’s it.
That’s what CrowdComms strives to create; simple tools that make better events. We are not interested in building technology that is not appropriate for the event space. We build amazing event apps for conferences. The apps are cost effective and loved by the organisers and the attendees.
That’s not to say we won’t be at the forefront of innovative thinking. We love event tech and event apps, we are always open to the possibilities or new ideas. But whatever concepts emerge over the next half a century, CrowdComms will only ever invest in ideas that make better events.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”App Talk Host” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_single_image image=”1667″ img_size=”500×500″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_custom_heading text=”Pete Hair – CrowdComms, Co-Founder” font_container=”tag:h4|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
