About GTR
Global Trade Review is a world-class independent publishing and events company, offering a one-stop-shop of news, events and services for companies and individuals involved in global trade. Their quarterly printed magazine is distributed to over 90 countries, while GTR’s editorial team provides high-quality journalism, daily on their website, on topics such as trade, export, commodity and supply chain finance markets as well as the political risk and trade credit insurance, treasury and fintech sectors.
When Global Trade Review wanted to deliver a fully customised and captivating virtual event for trade investors with high-end live streaming and production, we were thrilled that they chose us to make this happen for them. Along with pre-event planning to make sure all of the expectations were communicated, we also provided dedicated on-site assistance as well as our usual ‘we’re in your corner’ remote support team.
The Event
In a unique twist to the virtual events that we had previously delivered together with GTR, speakers streamed their sessions to the remote audience from a venue in London. Not only did this allow CrowdComms to oversee the filming, production and live-streaming on-site but it gave the speakers a valuable opportunity to collaborate and work with each other. A factor that would not have been possible if speakers had delivered their sessions remotely. Feedback from presenters was wholly positive and indicated that this method of event production reassured them that the way back to in-person events was on the horizon.
Virtual Event Delivery
Having collaborated on the delivery of numerous virtual events previously, GTR and CrowdComms were able to draw on our combined experience in content delivery and platform utilisation to ensure attendees remained focused and avoided the dreaded virtual event fatigue that has become prevalent in the current working world.
In order to achieve a dynamic launch and to extend the reach of the event, LinkedIn was utilised as a platform to broadcast two live sessions. This also had the benefit of showcasing GTR as leaders in post-pandemic event production to a wider audience. Using social media channels creatively in this way is a growing trend and one that was especially important to consider in this case, to promote event registration and extend the longevity of the high-quality content.
Reviewing the useability of CrowdComms’ technology, GTR emphasised the flexibility and accessibility of the platform. In their view, the content was easy to include during event construction and the platform was supremely reliable – especially crucial when the technology is the central point of the event!
“Simple and clean front-end and intuitive back-end.”
The CrowdComms’ Difference
What shone through, when reflecting back on the event together, was GTR’s enthusiasm about the CrowdComms’ team and the support that they received. Not only was full assistance given during the platform build and customisation process but ideas concerning audience engagement were proactively offered throughout the event’s development.
“The expertise in AV and broadcasting the content was handled entirely by CrowdComms.
The support has been invaluable.
You made it look so easy!”
Overjoyed with how happy our clients were with this event, we wanted to elicit feedback from an attendee perspective. The phrase ‘a smooth experience’ kept reappearing as audience members voiced how much they enjoyed the event and the varied methods of content delivery. The different engagement features were a hit with attendees, turning them from passive spectators to active contributors. Content was made available on-demand exceptionally quickly, which was highly valued and appreciated by the audience.
A big thank you to Global Trade Review for taking the time to talk to us about their experience. We can’t wait for our next opportunity to work together!
