The lead up to your event can be a stressful time, but ensuring your event app is up to scratch in good time will help you relax just a little bit! Releasing your event app around three weeks before the big day means your attendees gain a unique insight into your event, so you want to make sure it’s the best it can be. Before you send your promo email encouraging attendees to download, make sure you’ve remembered these must-haves for your event app.

Sneak Peek Agenda

At this time in your event-prep schedule its very likely that your full agenda is yet to be confirmed, however there is no need to hide the schedule entirely.

Include your draft agenda or session titles and create buzz around the sessions, for example “more exciting details to come” to pique interest. You can add in the full agenda closer to the date, but your attendees will at least have an idea of what’s in store well in advance of the conference. This will work in your favour- releasing titbits of content will boost your event app download rates, attendees will want to know what’s coming next!

Event Hashtag

As we all know a strong social media presence is a no-brainer these days, and encouraging attendees to tweet leading up to your event is crucial for building excitement.

So be sure to include your event hashtag in the app. It will serve as a visual reminder to attendees to tweet early on. By the time of the event attendees are sure to be tweeting and the hashtag will be etched on their minds! Incorporating the hashtag into event activities allows you to see engagement levels in real time, as well as boosting FOMO for remote attendees.

Venue Directions and Floor Plan

Providing directions to the venue in your event app allows attendees to organise their travel plans ahead of time.

Embedding Google Maps into your event app will be especially helpful for attendees travelling from further away. You could also include directions from the nearest airport and train station as well as taxi numbers and pricing.

As well as this, for events in larger venues like expo halls you may want to include a venue floor plan to help attendees find their way around. Adding drop pins tied to specific speaker sessions or exhibitor booths is an added bonus to ensure attendance and prove ROI to stakeholders.

Speaker List

Make sure details are uploaded in the event app for all your keynote speakers and experts to create a buzz around the event. With the speakers’ permission upload photos, bios, social media and websites to the event app.

They’ll have something to look forward to, plus and it can boost session hype leading up to the event.
