“IMEX America – The King of Conventions!”

With the US opening to foreign visitors, only one day before IMEX America was due to begin, a burst of pent-up excitement was elicited from both exhibitors and visitors alike as people made their way through immigration and towards the venue. There was no better way to ‘launch’ ourselves back into the states than by heading to Las Vegas for one of the most well-attended global events in the industry.

With over 3500 exhibitors from 155 countries presenting their wares to more than 4000 visitors, the atmosphere was upbeat and lively, to say the least! Everyone we encountered was not only happy to be soaking up some Nevada sunshine but genuinely overjoyed to be back in the midst of a large-scale event again.

Woven into our discussions with event planners was the general desire for a greater variety of creative approaches towards virtual events and content delivery. The events that people remember are those that generate a meaningful experience and not just deliver on their primary function of presenting content to an audience. Clients are looking for those platforms that can create a stand-out and bespoke virtual event, where engagement is high and attendees are inspired to act on the messages delivered.

You couldn’t help but become wide-eyed as you walked through the spectacle of exhibitor spaces, the expansive array demonstrating the boom in event tech offerings, giving the strong sense that this sector is the biggest that it has ever been.

The Future is…

Buoyant with optimism! The events industry is focused on delivering great events, regardless of whether they are in-person, virtual or somewhere in-between and this drive to excel will no doubt be the foundation for exciting developments concerning event tech solutions in the New Year.

There is still much experimentation to do from the industry as a whole; learning from our audiences, playing with methods of event delivery and working out what works best for different event formats and demographics. IMEX felt like a celebration of everything that the industry has achieved in the last two-years and the adaptations that have been made in order to continue to deliver high-quality and engaging events despite global challenges.

If the energy at IMEX is anything to go by, we’re in for an exciting 2022!
