From a bright idea to events all over the world

CrowdComms began in 2011 with a simple belief: event technology should make life easier for the people running events, not harder.

From a first office in Sydney and Dorset, we have grown into a global team trusted by brands worldwide.

This is how we got here.

2011

CrowdComms is founded by Peter Hair, Felix Stroud-Allen and Deirdre Brannick. The first office opens in Sydney, Australia, shortly followed by Dorset, UK.

2012
The CrowdComms event app on three phones

Demand builds and the first CrowdComms event app is born: a logo and an agenda, as trailblazing as they came in 2012.

2013
Vanessa Bishop and Peter Hair on the CrowdComms stand at AIME

Vanessa Bishop, (CD) joins Peter Hair to help grow out the Australia and APAC region.

2014
Milestone: 200 events delivered
2015-2016

Future CrowdComms leaders Matthew Allen (CEO), Lee Jack (CRO) and Henry Hall (DNB), along with the one and only Rob Pope, join the team.

2017
Milestone: 1,000 events delivered
2018

Onsite badging is added to the offering, extending the service and making good on our promise to be our clients' go-to event tech provider.

2019

The man, the myth, the legend, Will Custard, joins to drive the product forward with his extensive user experience background.

2019
Milestone: 2,000 events delivered
2020

The pandemic hits and we are all locked down. After a nervous few months and a race to pivot to virtual and remote working, growth accelerates.

2021-2022

Record numbers of global brands are onboarded, and key players join including Kim Proctor (Head of Production) and Donna Fielding (Information Security Manager).

With the pandemic behind us, it is back to in person, with a sprinkling of virtual and hybrid production to keep things interesting. Registration is added to the CrowdComms suite, completing our journey to providing a full suite.

Attendance tracking joins the platform: live visibility of who is in which session, and the data to prove what worked afterwards.

2024

Further ranges of our popular onsite badging kiosks are added, including the Minis, bringing seamless onsite badging to the world and to smaller events.

Milestone: 10,000 events delivered
2025

Our Atlanta US office opens. Brad Langley (SVP) joins, along with more boots on the ground to support our growing client base in the Americas.

The CrowdComms lead capture app scanning a badge

Lead capture joins the platform: exhibitors scan, qualify and follow up on leads before the event even ends.

2025

The CrowdComms Summer Party and Sports Day. Turns out we are great at running events and nearly as good in an egg and spoon race. Rory Trow was officially crowned the fastest person at CrowdComms, and quite possibly the world.

Milestone: 15,000 events delivered

Back to back record years for revenue and events delivered, more global brands onboarded, and the team continues to grow.
