What is ISO27001, and who is the awarding body?
ISO27001 is the international standard for information security and gaining this certification highlights that your ISMS (information security management system) conforms to information security best practices.
The excellent framework provided by the BSI certification is recognised globally and covers companies that are continually developing their product infrastructure. As we are regularly reviewing, updating and expanding the capabilities of our event technology as part of our innovation process and as a response to customer feedback, having this extra level of security scrutiny and cover was essential. Investing in this level of information security enables us to continually review and refine the way we manage and protect our information, not just for today, but also for the future.
Our Information Security Manager, Donna Fielding, commented:

UKAS certified suppliers, such as BSI, demand a higher level of scrutiny in the form of a lengthy and in-depth auditing process. Preparing for the BSI audit was no mean feat. It involved five days of comprehensive auditing: including observations of the company working environment and thorough scrutiny of development, production and systems. Randomised staff awareness interviews also ensured that all personnel have an in-depth knowledge of procedures and information safety protocol.

Why is ISO27001 so important?
As a cloud-based supplier, it’s imperative to our clients that we have an information security framework and one that sets out our information security policies and procedures.
