Walk a mile in their shoes before you judge them

We’re in full flow of event season, and Christmas is closer than any of us would like.

There’s the event attendees see: doors that open on time, sessions that run to schedule, coffee exactly when it’s needed. Then there’s the event our clients live through to make that happen.

What does a typical day look like for an event professional?

By 6:45am there are 43 unread emails. By 7:30am the lectern mic has stopped working. By lunch the breakout room for 40 has 140 people in it, a speaker has run 20 minutes over, and the vegan count has doubled since Friday. And at 5:30pm, leadership would like the numbers. Tonight.

What you do is hard, and you make it look easy.

Thank you to the people behind every smooth event

This month, I want to say thank you. To the organisers, planners and producers we work with: we see the early starts, the late changes and the calm face you keep on while everything moves underneath you.

It’s also a reminder of why we do what we do. We can’t win over the catering team, but we can take a lot off your plate.

When doors open, QR check-in and self-service kiosks keep the queue moving. When a session overruns, you update the timings once and every attendee’s phone shows the change. When a sponsor wants to know who visited their stand, they can see their own data. And when the day throws something nobody planned for, our onsite support team can be in the room with you or connected remotely.

A day in the life: the moments that test you, and how we help

The timeline below walks through a typical day: the moments that test you, and where we can help carry the load.

To every event professional reading this, thank you. However early the first email arrives, you won’t be dealing with it alone.
