Five leading suppliers to the events industry in Europe, have been invited to join the steering committee of newly established, events industry association, Meetings and Events Support Association (MESA).

CrowdComms is honoured to have been selected and CrowdComms’ Co-Founder, Felix Stroud-Allen, will represent the company on the committee.

MESA aims to provide a supportive and collaborative environment where suppliers to the events industry can network, share ideas and learn from each other.

Its vision is, “To grow a close-knit community where members can face challenges together in an ever-changing events industry” and the association is built on these shared values:

·       Guidance: We provide help, support, and advice to each other

·       Collaboration: We build close connections, collaborating on different projects

·       Respect: We show consideration to each other

·       Innovation: We love events and innovation within our industry

·       Networking: We increase our network with introductions for our fellow members

The association celebrated its inaugural education session in May with a virtual roundtable event for CEOs, discussing corporate culture and the impact the pandemic has had on teams and strategy. The event was chaired by influencer marketing expert, Gordon Glenister, and uncovered some great insights about what it’s been like for companies during a challenging 12 months.

MESA will meet regularly and small to medium sized companies (up to 100 employees) including entertainment, consulting, moderation, art, music, AV, and technology providers can become members.

Membership options include a range of levels from individual membership, Start-Up Corporate Membership, Corporate membership and by invitation only, Patron Membership. See more information about membership options here.

Other groups within the wider events industry are not eligible to join MESA but the association plans to work very closely with them. These groups include event planners, destinations, hotels, and venues. The association will provide an education programme for event planners online and via campfire sessions at Event Industry tradeshows.

The association has been born out of the legacy of the Meeting Design Institute which played a pivotal role in the events industry between 2006 and 2020.
